THE END OF THE MEETING...

Saturday  was a sad day for all of us in France because this was the final day of the project, so it was the last day in which we were with the people we had spent an unforgettable week with.

Students started the morning with the presentation of the projects that they had worked on throughout the whole week and after that they participated to contests organised by each team to see how much they remembered from all the presentations. They answered quizzes made with the online application kahoot.

As it was expected, thier work was rewarded with little souvenirs to remind them about these wonderful days.

It was then time to take the last group photo and to transmit a message to our Turkish friends who could not be here with us.

The rest of the day was scheduled by each one: some went out with the French and their partners from other countries, and the others spent their afternoon with their host. Some  went in the city centre together and we participated in a flashmob to support the candidacy of Amiens to become the European Capital of Youth.

France meeting – Day 2

Wednesday was a sunny day when we combined project work with a visit of the most important sights from Amiens.
At 8:30 AM I was at school with other teenagers from Spain, France and Estonia. We worked on a movie about the negative effects of the methanol.  The other groups worked on their own topics.

After two hours and half of work we finished the movie and we started the second activity. This activity was very interesting because all the students, divided in teams, visited the town. My team took some photos of the tourist spots like the huge museum of the city, the city hall and last but not least the great cathedral Notre Dame from Amiens. I was shocked by the size and beauty of cathedral, imagining at the same time how much work was required for each stone carving.

Then our team walked on the riverside, which was dotted with terraces that made this place look like a colorful landscape from fairy tales.
At 1 PM we finished the activities and we had lunch together. We had a picnic in a park and we had fun.
In the evening me and my partner went home where we had a traditional French dinner which I liked so much and then we watched a movie.
Quite late I felt asleep thinking about the next day and hoping it would be as wonderful as the day that was over

France meeting – what we learned, what we achieved

The fourth meeting of the project focused on discussing the topic of harmful chemical substances.
We had study visits to bio farms to learn how food can be produced without using chemical substances. We also visited chemical plants to find out how waste can be turned into fuel, how bacteria can be used safely to make fertilisers and how safety standards can be respected.

But we also worked in mixed international groups in order to do research on the set topics and to create videos to inform other people about what we have learned. Here is our work:
Bee-killing chemical substances

Methanol – windscreen washer

Preservatives in cosmetics

Greenwashing

Glyphosate
